JW Hughes & Co again awarded Lexcel Accreditation

We are pleased to announce that J W Hughes & Co LLP has again been accredited with the Law Society’s Lexcel accreditation for excellence in legal practice management and client care.

The Lexcel accreditation is awarded to law firms that can demonstrate excellence in structure and strategy, financial management, information management, people management, risk management, client care, plus file and case management. We have been accredited with the Law Society’s Lexcel quality mark since 2015 and again this year we have demonstrated our commitment to risk management, quality and client care to the standards required by Lexcel.

The Assessor noted that it was evident the practice management system is well embedded. The supervision procedures are working well and file management is good, with files being kept in an orderly manner. The client care policy is effective, evidenced by the fact that there are few complaints and client feedback is excellent.
Areas of good practice were highlighted in the report where JW Hughes & Co has notably exceeded what the Lexcel Standard requires. In addition the firm continues to recognise the importance of cyber security, staff training on a range of issues, risk management, file reviews, client feedback, file management and clients being informed of the progress of their case.
The Assessor also noted that we have a particularly diligent, skilled, and experienced Practice Manager who ensures that all policies and procedures are monitored and implemented with authority, resulting in a high level of effectiveness in minimizing all risks to which the Practice is exposed. Attention to security of information is exceptionally good and members of staff reported their keen awareness of the dangers of lax cyber security practices.
