JW Hughes & Co. has again been accredited with the Law Society’s Lexcel accreditation for excellence in legal practice management and client care.
The Lexcel accreditation is awarded to law firms that can demonstrate excellence in structure and strategy, financial management, information management, people management, risk management, client care, plus file and case management. The accreditation is flexible and allows firms to apply the framework in the way that best suits its customers. We have been accredited with the Law Society’s Lexcel quality mark since 2015 and again this year we have demonstrated our commitment to risk management, quality and client care to the standards required by Lexcel.
The Assessor noted that it was evident that the firm has operated its plans, policies and procedures effectively over the last 12 months and that the practice management system is well embedded. The supervision procedures, including file reviews, are working well and file management is good, with files being kept in an orderly manner. The client care policy is in effective operation, evidenced by the fact that there are few complaints and client feedback is excellent. Employees were knowledgeable about Lexcel processes and the Assessor observed a friendly atmosphere and an approachable management culture. Eight areas of good practice were highlighted including the recognition of the importance of cyber security, staff training on a range of issues, risk management, file reviews, client feedback, file management and clients being informed of the progress of their case.
