Pedestrian Road Traffic Accident
We represented a client who was subject to an incident on the road, whereby she was struck by a car and knocked over while crossing at a junction. The police were involved, and an investigation was underway. Our client suffered injuries to her hip which required rehabilitation (including physiotherapy). Our client’s mobility had been adversely affected limiting her ability to undertake day-to-day tasks that she would normally do with ease before the accident.
Our client was claiming damages in that the defendant was driving without undue care and attention, driving too fast, and failing to notice a pedestrian who was already on the road. We instructed an expert witness orthopedic surgeon to assess our client’s injuries and provide a full and detailed report to include pre-accident and post-accident medical history, the treatment received in recovery and rehabilitation, future treatment, and prognosis including whether our client had lost the capacity to work.
Once police investigations were completed, we requested CCTV footage of the accident, and the defendant admitted liability. The claim was settled for £25,000.00.
